WIP Wednesday: A New Rug
It's Work-In-Progress Wednesday, and I have started a new tarn (t-shirt yarn) rug for the test phase of my pattern, Tarnation Rectangle Rug. I'm using a regular store-boughten crochet hook instead of my grandmother's handmade wooden hook, to be sure I've got the size right on the pattern.
The pattern test is in full swing now, and if you'd like to be a tester, just let me know and I'll email a .pdf of the pattern to you. Instructions for making tarn are included.

Every time I see this I want to go out and buy T-shirts so I can make it...but that just seems to defeat the purpose to me! LOL
ReplyDeleteYAY, looks great! I'm loving all the rugs this week.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the completed rug all tested and official! I love crafting with my grandmother's tools. Makes me feel connected to her.
ReplyDeleteHeehee, Tarnation. What a great name for your project! I have plans for my t-shirts so I can't rip them into tarn. Heck, I don't know if I would even if I could. I still have a bazillion plastic bags that I never turned into plarn.
ReplyDeleteOhh, I really like how this one is turning out!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI've still gotta scrounge up more shirts. That's on my to-do list this week. . .
Loving the colors but then I am really partial to black and grays. Keep going, would love to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteSimonSimple: Thank you! Actually I added solid gray as the next color, but it was too similar to the previous color, so I frogged it last night. I'll alternate white with the neutrals in this rug, to give it an interesting pattern.
